Requirements

  • Experience managing the construction of multi-disciplinary, highly serviced buildings
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and motivate teams
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to challenge issues related to quality, health and safety, and costs

Qualifications

  • CITB SMSTS certificate

Desirable

  • Degree in construction or civil engineering
  • NVQ/SVQ Level 4 in management (or willing to achieve this)

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Site Operations: Oversee daily work on-site, ensuring everything runs smoothly
  • Health & Safety: Ensure safety standards are followed, conducting site inductions and briefings
  • Work with Architects and Engineers: Keep all plans and specifications up to date
  • Manage Subcontractors: Ensure all workers and subcontractors are organised and working efficiently
  • Project Documentation: Keep records up to date, including site diaries and defect logs
  • Quality Control: Make sure all work meets quality standards and address any issues immediately
  • Project Planning: Monitor schedules and plan ahead to keep the project on track
  • Training: Identify training needs and ensure team members are supported
  • Snagging: Inspect the work, create snag lists, and ensure all issues are resolved before project completion
  • Cost Control: Manage daily work sheets and ensure accurate recording of costs
