Onsite, days role commutable from Peterhead and surrounding areas
The Role:
As a Refrigeration Engineer, you will be responsible for the repair, service, and maintenance of the factory's refrigeration systems. You will support the Chief Engineer and Engineering Team Leaders, ensuring our site plant runs efficiently and optimal working conditions are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Engineer and Engineering Team Leaders in all aspects of site refrigeration.
- Maintain the site plant for efficient operations and optimal conditions.
- Develop, implement, review, and update a comprehensive refrigeration maintenance program.
- Minimize downtime with prompt call-out support.
- Provide detailed status and ongoing reports about the system.
- Conduct site training for the engineering department to increase awareness and support in maintenance.
- Mentor and guide refrigeration engineer apprentices.
- Alert the Chief Engineer to any issues that arise.
- Recommend changes for cost savings and performance improvements.
- Provide engineering support in other areas of the factory as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Formal industry-recognized qualification in refrigeration engineering (e.g., NVQ Diploma Level 2/3 in Servicing and Maintaining Refrigeration Systems).
- Demonstrated technical competencies and relevant certificates (e.g., 2079 Refrigerant handling, ACRIB, Ammonia, FGAS).
Skills/Personal Attributes:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Passion for delivering results and exceeding expectations.
- Strong team player with a professional approach and attitude.
Other Relevant Information:
- A full driving license is preferred.
- Flexibility in working hours is required to meet business needs.
- Willingness to assist in other areas/departments as directed by management.
Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. Flexibility in working hours may be required.
