A growing business services company in Petersfield is looking for a Financial Controller to join on a 6-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of becoming permanent. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a hands-on role with responsibility for overseeing the finance team and driving financial improvements in a thriving SME environment. Hybrid working is available once established in the role.   • Overseeing the day-to-day management of the finance team
  • Producing management accounts, including profit and loss, variance analysis, cash flow forecasting and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Developing and producing monthly management information packs for the MD
  • Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns
  • Liaising with external accountants during the year-end audit process
  • Providing oversight of payroll for over 100 staff members
  • Assisting with invoicing and reconciliations when necessary
What you will need:
  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as Financial Controller / Finance Manager / Head of Finance / Senior Management Accountant
  • Team management experience
  • Strong understanding of financial processes, management reporting, and payroll oversight
  • A mindset for continuous improvement and driving efficiencies
  • Proficiency with Sage and Excel
