About the Role:
We are recruiting a dedicated Finance Assistant to join a leading professional services company that specializes in B2B solutions, based in Petersfield, Hampshire. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a solid foundation in finance, ready to support various accounting functions and contribute to the smooth operation of financial activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
    • Process invoices, ensuring timely and accurate entries.
    • Monitor and manage outstanding receivables, issuing reminders and coordinating with clients as needed.
  2. Bank Reconciliations:
    • Conduct daily and monthly bank reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and ensuring accuracy in records.
  3. Payroll Support:
    • Assist in processing payroll, ensuring all staff payments are calculated accurately and processed on time.
  4. Expense Management:
    • Process staff expense claims, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant with company policies.
  5. General Ledger Maintenance:
    • Post financial transactions to the general ledger, supporting the preparation of monthly and year-end reports.
  6. Data Entry and Record-Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate and organized financial records, supporting internal audits and financial reporting.
  7. Financial Reporting Support:
    • Assist senior finance staff in preparing monthly reports, budgets, and forecasts for management review.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Finance Assistant or in a similar finance role.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks).
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel and basic data analysis skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with both colleagues and clients.
