My client is seeking a dedicated Repair and Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of Maintenance and Repair Trade Operatives, ensuring efficient and cost-effective repair work. This role is crucial for managing daily operations, ensuring safety compliance, and driving continuous improvement within a team of repair and maintenance trades within social housing .

Day-to-day of the role:

  • The Repair and Maintenance Supervisor will manage the daily operations of a team of Trade Operatives to ensure timely and accurate repair work.
  • Enforce Health & Safety policies and statutory legislation to ensure the safety and welfare of both direct labour and subcontractors.
  • Conduct daily team management activities including absence management meetings, performance reviews, and feedback sessions.
  • Facilitate training and development through toolbox talks, coaching, and support during call-out rota.
  • Perform pre-work inspections, provide technical advice, and undertake quality assessments to address any defects or incomplete works.
  • Liaise with tenants and clients to manage expectations and provide updates on service provision.
  • Handle administrative responsibilities accurately and timely, including data collection and analysis to drive improvement actions.
  • Implement Systems Thinking techniques to enhance service quality and cost-efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience of or aptitude for leadership & management.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of building trade with maintenance or building trade and decision-making/problem-solving skills. Plumbing, Carpentry, Roofing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook; capable of extracting and utilising data effectively.
  • Good commercial awareness with an understanding of cost impacts.
  • Self-motivated with a clean driving licence.
