Pastoral Support Assistant needed in Hailsham

This is fantastic opportunity for someone who's passionate about making a real impact on children's lives.

This role involves playing a team part in supporting in an all-through schools pastoral department. Supporting children who are unable to attend class and need a little time to diffuse and dis-regulate. Being patient, compassionate and demonstrating unconditional positive regard is essential.

Applications for the position are welcome from candidates of ranging experience, and training will be provided, although previous experience working with students with SEMH, particularly attachment and trauma is preferable. Experience working with children with challenging behaviour is important and a strong sense of behaviour management is key.

You will

  • Have experience working with children, or passion to do so

  • Be patient and nurturing

  • Be able to demonstrate your ability to build professional relationships with children

  • Hold a UK driving licence and own a car
