About the role of Estimator

We are currently working with a leading construction business who is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join their succesful team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, and a proven ability to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates.

Key Responsibilities for an Estimator

  • Analyse project plans, specifications, and requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information.
  • Research and source materials, equipment, and labour costs for the project.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed cost breakdowns and tender documentation.
  • Assist in value engineering to optimise project costs without compromising quality.
  • Monitor market trends to anticipate fluctuations in costs and availability.
  • Present estimates to senior management and clients with confidence and clarity.
  • Contribute to risk analysis and contingency planning for the project.

Key Requirements for an Estimator

  • Proven experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably with projects of a similar scale and complexity.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost factors.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and tools
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
