Tezlom, a leading recruitment agency established in 2008, is recruiting for a Chef based in a Care Home and Nursing Home.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in kitchen operations and food preparation, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to food safety. As a Chef, you will lead the kitchen staff, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards while fostering a positive and efficient work environment.

Duties

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring all food production meets quality standards.
  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, adhering to recipes and presentation standards.
  • Adhering to our Residents' dietary requirements in a Care Home environment, such as low fat diets, soft food diets, allergens and cultural preferences to food.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and safety practices.
  • Manage inventory and order supplies as needed to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Implement and maintain food safety protocols in accordance with health regulations.
  • Collaborate with management to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times.
  • Monitor kitchen performance and provide feedback to team members for improvement.
  • Work in line with our Residents to ensure their preferences, choices for food are taken into consideration and applied at seasonal menus.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant, school, care home or culinary environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary arts, and food safety regulations.
  • Prepare English Cuisine
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in supervising and managing teams.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
  • Chef: 1 year (preferred)
  • Cooking: 1 year (preferred)
