The Role: As a Philosophy and Religious Education Teacher at our Pinner-based school, you will:

  • Engage and Inspire: Deliver captivating lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach A-Level, sparking students' interest with innovative teaching methods.
  • Innovate the Curriculum: Play a pivotal role in developing a diverse, relevant, and stimulating Philosophy and RE curriculum.
  • Cultivate Critical Thinkers: Encourage students to explore philosophical questions and religious traditions, fostering a culture of critical thinking, respect, and open-mindedness.
  • Inclusiveness: Encourage and impress upon students the importance of inclusivity and diversity.
  • Collaborate and Grow: Work closely with the Humanities department and other colleagues to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver high-quality lessons tailored to the diverse needs of our students.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them achieve their academic goals.
  • Engage in departmental meetings and professional development activities.
  • Champion extracurricular activities and events that enrich the Philosophy and RE curriculum.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Philosophy, Religious Studies, or a related field.
  • Previous experience as a philosophy and religious education teacher would be beneficial.
  • A passion for teaching and a dedication to fostering a lifelong love of learning in students.
  • Outstanding classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
