Job Opportunity: Accounts Senior

Are you an experienced Accounts Senior looking for a new challenge? Join their dynamic team in Plymouth on a permanent basis, with part-time, flexible, and hybrid working options available.

Main Duties

  • Prepare financial statements for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders up to the audit threshold.
  • Prepare personal and corporate tax computations and returns.
  • Provide bookkeeping and management accounting services.
  • Support the digital services team with app research and recommendations based on the Xero app ecosystem.
  • Develop and train junior team members.
  • File documents with Companies House and HM Revenue & Customs on behalf of clients.
  • Maintain and update accounting records for clients.
  • Prepare and complete quarterly VAT returns.
  • Comply with internal policies, procedures, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide general administrative support to Partners, Directors, Managers, and the office.

  • Resilient, able to multi-task, and work independently/flexibly.

  • Initiative-taker with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Discreet, professional, and team-oriented.
  • Proficient in general IT (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Social Media).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to present information effectively and concisely.
  • Experience working at an Accounts Senior or Semi-Senior level in an accountancy practice.
  • Previous experience in accounts preparation for limited companies and unincorporated businesses.

  • Up to 36.25 hours / 5 days per week (part-time, flexible, and hybrid working available).
