Job Purpose
- Management of audits, from planning to completion
- Review and preparation of accounts for a range of owner-managed businesses with turnovers to c. £70 million.
- Provision of tax, VAT and general bookkeeping services.
- Lead a portfolio of clients, from resource planning to WIP and budget management.
- Work closely with clients to build trusted relationships, being the go-to for support.
- Deliver a strong commercial awareness, reviewing opportunities for fee development.
- Confidently present work to senior managers, completing files to a high standard.
- Underpin audit and accounts matters with current legislation and compliance.
- Handle compliance queries from clients, acting as the main point of contact and delivering clear communications.
- Assist with pitching to new clients and attending networking opportunities, championing new business for the firm.
- Delegate work to, and mentor new trainees, supporting with their learning and development.
- Set an example for the team as a natural senior member of the team.

The Successful Applicant
- ACA or ACCA qualified or part qualified with demonstrable accountancy practice experience.
- Self-motivated and reliable who is eager to progress.
- Technically efficient in both audit and accounting.
- A drive to deliver technical knowledge as a point of call for the team.
- Previous practice experience, with a positive and constructive attitude.
- Confident in reviewing processes and improving systems to boost efficiency.
- Strong communication skills are essential, both verbal and written.
- Commercial awareness, with confidence to provide suggestions to leadership team.
