About the RoleWe are looking for a Financial Accountant to support the growth aspirations of our Plymouth based client by working closely with your team, wider finance and non-finance teams also. In this role, you will:
  • Ensure statutory financial accounting is complete, effective, and compliant.
  • Maximise the company's financial position through best practices.
  • Oversee the day-to-day financial accounting activities, ensuring legal compliance.
  • Apply strong technical accounting knowledge and skills to drive improvement.
  • Demonstrate leadership and energy to guide us toward our goals while maintaining compliance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare statutory financial statements and VAT returns.
  • Maintain complex asset registers and balance sheet controls.
  • Prepare management accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with current and emerging accounting standards.
  • Manage and motivate the financial accounting team.
About the Candidate
  • Significant experience in an accountancy environment.
  • ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified preferable. 
  • A good understanding of current and emerging accounting standards.
  • Experience in managing and motivating teams.
