Job Title: Financial Accountant

About the Role:
TQR Plymouth is pleased to present an opportunity for a talented Financial Accountant to join a high-growth luxury lifestyle business, whose strong order book for 2025 and beyond means this is a great time to get on board with a leading local employer. This high-profile role is pivotal within the finance function; you’ll play a key role in driving financial compliance and improved reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare weekly short-term cash flow forecasts, analysing disbursements and receipts, and providing accurate cash flow presentations for stakeholders.
- Prepare monthly consolidated group management accounts with variance analysis and commentary.
- Prepare annual financial statements, including supporting files and responding to auditor queries.
- Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and controls, driving continuous improvement.
- Support the preparation of annual tax returns and compliance, including RDEC returns.
- Manage information required for HMRC and national statistic reporting.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and manage tasks to support efficient close periods and timely reporting of management accounts.
- Lead finance team members to ensure systems and processes for reporting are in place, utilizing and developing PowerBI solutions.
- Develop and mentor finance team members to share knowledge and avoid single point dependency.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Newly or part-qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) and a member of the equivalent professional body.
- Financial experience in the manufacturing sector is desirable but not essential.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to lead change positively.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate financial information to senior managers.
- Confident, enthusiastic, and resilient.
- Efficient approach to tasks and delivering on time.
- High standard of IT skills, including Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Power BI.
- High level of commercial acumen.
- Composure under pressure and experience performing in challenging circumstances.
