Our client, a prominent organisation in the South West undergoing significant growth, is currently seeking an experienced and proactive Management Accountant to join their expanding team on a full-time, permanent basis.

As the Management Accountant, you will be central to overseeing the Finance function's operations, which encompasses assessing the organisations financial performance, and supporting vital commercial decisions.

The responsibilities:

  • Preparing the month-end Profit and Loss statement, Balance Sheet, and comprehensive reporting pack, while also providing detailed explanations for any variances against the budget.
  • Acting as a finance business partner by collaborating closely with key teams across the broader organisation to ensure alignment on financial objectives.
  • Conducting thorough reviews and challenges of monthly accruals across the organisation to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Overseeing the processes related to the sales ledger and managing manual payment procedures to maintain efficient financial operations.
  • Preparing and submitting timely and accurate monthly and quarterly regulatory returns.
  • Providing support during the year-end audit, assisting with the preparation and review of required documents.
  • Performing additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support the Finance function's overall objectives.

The candidate:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a background in preparing management accounts, financial modelling and providing insightful commentary.
  • Professional qualification, such as ACCA, CIMA, or ACA, is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and confidently challenge and improve existing practices.
