What we’re looking for

Are you a Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager ready to progress to the role of Tax Director in Plymouth? Or perhaps you’re a Tax Director already and would be keen to take on a new challenge at a growing and thriving firm?

We represent a thriving firm in Plymouth, tasked with finding an ambitious, confident, skilled and talented Tax Director to offer private and corporate tax analysis, advisory and compliance services to a range of interesting clients in varying sectors.

This role will suit an ambitious tax accountant, qualified toACA, ACCA, CA and CTA level and with significant corporate tax experience.

We’re searching for a technically excellent, and motivated tax accountant who can oversee the work of the team at the highest level and can offer our clients enhanced knowledge and advice when it comes to tax efficiencies.

You will be a skilled leader and motivator and you will have experience of performance management and mentorship. We are looking for a brilliant work ethic and a candidate with first-class communication skills. You will be ambitious, motivated, and excited to take on a new challenge.

Job Purpose

  • Leading the firm’s Tax provision.
  • The successful candidate will oversee the high-level provision of tax services and strategic direction of the firm’s tax arm.
  • Tax planning, advice, and risk mitigation.
  • Lead and inspire the tax team.
  • Encourage, support, and mentor junior team members — championing customer service excellence.
  • Proactively investigate and identify opportunities for the firm and clients and be confident in presenting and discussing them at Partner level.
  • Showcase a high level of commercial acumen.
  • Work with collaboratively with the Directors and Partners across the firm to champion onward growth and development.
