Butler Rose is exclusively recruiting a Treasury Accountant for a successful business in Plymouth. This is a permanent role offering hybrid working.

Reporting into the Finance Director, key duties will include:

  • Cash Flow Management - monitoring daily cash balances and ensure sufficient liquidity to meet operational and strategic business needs.
  • Monthly bank account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and upcoming financial obligations.
  • Prepare foreign currency forecasts and ensure forward hedging contracts are maintained in line with company policies.
  • Assist with the preparation and analysis of treasury reports, including cash position reports, liquidity analysis, and forecasts for senior management.
  • Ensure treasury management systems are functioning properly, assist in system upgrades or implementations, and help maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with the management of short-term investments and co-ordinate with external partners to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Identify and assess financial risks, especially related to currency, interest rates, and liquidity, and provide recommendations for mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards (GAAP or IFRS), and treasury-related regulations.
  • Provide support during external audits by preparing documentation and assisting with treasury-related inquiries.
  • Work closely with other departments, including accounting, finance, and operations, to ensure alignment of cash management strategies with business goals.

The successful candidate will be a formally qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent), although those who are QBE or part-qualified with demonstrable experience will also be considered. You will have a strong understanding of treasury functions, cash flow forecasting, and liquidity management with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
