HGV Class 1 Driver

24-7 Recruitment are currently looking for HGV Class 1 Drivers for a client that we are representing in the Plymouth, Devon area on an ongoing basis, potentially temp to perm, for the right candidate. We are looking for experienced and reliable drivers, who are available for assessment and induction immediately. This role will involve you delivering pallets directly to businesses across the UK.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate an HGV Class 1 delivery vehicle
- Load and unload goods from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling and securing of items.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries.
- Complete necessary paperwork and logbooks accurately
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
Skills:
- Valid driver's license with appropriate category for operating a Class 1 vehicle.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with experience driving an HGV vehicle.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and regulations
- Ability to navigate using GPS or maps to locate delivery addresses.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers.
