Concrete Engineering Advisor

Remote (Occasional site visits - Plymouth)

12 month + Contract (Inside IR35)

£60 - £70 per hour (Umbrella)

Our client, a global organisation urgently require a Concrete Engineering Advisor to undertake a long term contract.

The role:

  • Review the existing Technical Specification for the works, and provide any feedback on ‘Reinforced Concrete’
  • Constituent Material Qualification
  • Concrete Production Suitability Tests
  • Precautions against thermal cracking
  • Production Conformity Control
  • Confirm that Lifetime Quality Records are being compiled as per the ITP / Quality Plan.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • A degree in an appropriate engineering discipline e.g. Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent.
  • Chartered Engineer, registered with Engineering Council, or working towards.
  • Associated with industry bodies, such as the Concrete Society or Institution of Concrete Technology would be preferential.
  • Demonstrable experience in the design and construction of Quality Grade 1 Class A Reinforced Concrete Structures.
  • Knowledge of operating in a Nuclear Licensed Site
  • 5 years working in heavy concrete structures preferably with experience working in the specialist field of concrete materials (mix development, defect remediation, site construction etc.) and specification writing
