Are you an experienced Geotechnical Engineer, looking for an opportunity with a contemporary business in South Devon?RGB Recruitment are delighted to be partnered with a established local practice which has full and healthy order book, providing excellent job security. This business offers design consultancy services across several disciplines and are looking to strengthen they Geotechnical team with an engineer at a senior level.Responsibilities include:Designing and detailing of works including:
  • Soil nails
  • rock anchors
  • Sheet piles,
  • Secant piles
  • Foundations
  • Temporary works
  • Earth retention
  • Excavation support
  • Ground improvement schemes
Interpreting ground investigations, identifying ground risk and providing technical solutions to mitigate identified risks.Preparing and checking a wide range of technical reports Ensuring projects are designed to comply with current design codes and regulations including Eurocodes and British Standards.Ensuring projects and site works comply with current H&S requirements and industry standards whilst promoting a culture of awareness.Producing and assisting with the compilation of fee estimates / tender documents for the procurement of new work.Working closely with civil and structural departments to help deliver cross-departmental projects.Attending sites including commercial and domestic properties for the purposes of survey works, inspections, monitoring works, meetings, etc.Working with industry partners/teams including Architects, Contractors, Local Authorities and Engineers to deliver projects to suit client requirements.REQUIREMENTS:
  • Educated to degree level (MEng / BEng / BSc) in a Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering degree subject with geotechnical modules.
  • Preferably have chartered status with an accredited body (not essential where candidates exhibit sufficient experience)
  • Have a minimum 3-5 years’ relevant experience in a geo-structural design environment. (Less experience may be considered for the right candidate).
  • Significant geotechnical design experience including writing Geotechnical Design Reports and Earth Works Specifications (to CD622 and EC7).
  • Proficiency in the use of design software such as AutoCad, Masterseries, SCIA Engineer, WALLAP, QGIS, Civils 3D, is essential.
  • Be capable of working individually or as part of a wider team as lead engineer or assisting others.
  • Be conscientious with high standards, attention to detail and good written and oral communication skills.
  • Be competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Keep up with industry innovations, undertake CPD to maintain a good knowledge of current construction & engineering practice.
  • Have a full driving licence.
