IT Infrastructure Engineer

The Opportunity:

My client based in the Manufacturing sector are currently on the lookout for an IT Infrastructure Engineer on a permanent basis. In this role you will support, maintain & configure high available IT Network, Datacentres, Server, and Storage environments.

You will do this by using standard Monitoring tools to problem solve and improve system performance and reliability of the IT Infrastructure, which enables and drives business continuity, data integrity, data security and operational visibility for business flexibility and responsive decision making. 

  • Plymouth, Devon (5 days a week in office) 
  • Market Rates (DOE)
  • Pension, Vehicle Schemes, Staff Discounts, Training, etc.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Daily, weekly, monthly datacentre health checks, performing scheduled maintenance for all virtual platforms.
  • Monitor, maintain and act on datacentre health alerting to ensure high availability of datacentre infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, Implement, and maintain the Physical Server environment.
  • Install, configure, implement, and maintain the Storage environment.
  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly server and data backups to disk and tape storage.
  • Cloud-based backup and restore management and configuration, along with virtual server environment management and configuration. 
  • Maintain existing VMware environment and maintain VMware templates.
