Dynamic and Experienced Production Design Engineer required for Precision Engineering Manufacturer based in Plymouth. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in bringing new products to the market and will focus on the development of the product and the process.

Key Role Responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure new products are manufacturable.
  • Develop and implement efficient production processes for new products.
  • Create manufacturing plans, including bill of materials and production schedules.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential manufacturing risks.
  • Design and implement robust gauging solutions.
  • Support production launch and ramp-up of new products.
  • Continuously improve manufacturing processes to optimise quality and efficiency.

Essential Knowledge, Experience and Candidate Attributes required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechancial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of three years experience in a similar role in a Manufacturing or Precision Engineering environment.
  • Experience with new product introduction (NPI) processes.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing principles and processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with strong mathmateical experience.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Beneficial Experience:

  • Experience with soft machining and hard machining processes would be beneficial.
  • Experience with MathCAD would be beneficial.
  • CAD experience would be beneficial, SolidWorks preferred.
