Section Engineer - Major Infrastructure Project - Plymouth

Randstad are recruiting for an experienced Section Engineer to join a major infrastructure project at Devonport Docks in Plymouth. This is a contract role offering a competitive rate and the opportunity to work on a critical project within a leading construction company.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage a specific section of the project, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.

* Supervise and coordinate the work of a team of site staff, including technicians, surveyors, and operatives.

  • Implement and maintain safety procedures and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

* Manage and resolve technical issues that arise within your section, ensuring timely and efficient solutions.

  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including site surveys, drawings, reports, and safety records.

* Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Section Engineer or in a similar role within the construction industry.

* A strong understanding of construction methods and processes, particularly within the infrastructure sector.
* Experience working on complex projects, ideally within a naval dockyard or similar environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders.

* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Desirable Qualifications:

* Experience working with Kier or other leading construction companies.
* Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.
* Experience with construction software, such as AutoCAD and BIM.
