Techniche Global are supporting an engineering defence contractor to appoint a Senior Project Engineer for Major Infrastructure Projects, which supports dock, berth, and building upgrades for ship and submarine sustainment.As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be working with the Water Retaining Boundary team to manage the lead design consultant on a critical civil design package.Rate:                     up to £55 per hr Location:               Devonport Dockyard in PlymouthType:                     Remote with meetings every 6 weeksDuration:               6-12 months contract initially Requirements:        eligible for SC Clearance - only sole British Responsibilities: 
  • Supporting the Package Manager who is responsible for the delivery of multiple sub-packages.
  • Working closely with the technical team to ensure deliverables meet stringent quality criterium by leading sub-packages through governance processes.
  • Responsible for working with schedule, commercial, cost and risk management functions to ensure that design packages are delivered to time, cost, and quality parameters.
  • Translate supply chain reporting into useable data to inform planning, monitoring and control of work packages.
  • Document & Deliverable management.
  • Manage the risk process including the identification, assessment, planning and implementation of risks, opportunities, and issues.
  • Assist with administering the NEC contract using CEMAR.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience 
  • Candidate must hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree, ideally in a STEM subject area.
  • Experience of project or design management, ideally within an infrastructure delivery.
  • Experience managing and administering an NEC4 contract.
  • Experience in delivery of nuclear safety implicated structures, equipment or services would be of desirable.
