Are you an experienced Cook or Assistant Cook looking for a role within an Education environment working 30 hours per week within in a busy, fast-paced, fun and energetic environment?

Wise Employment are currently recruiting for a Cook for a permanent role based within an educational setting in Plympton, Plymouth.

You will be required to work Monday to Friday on a weekly rotating shift pattern; Week one: 8am to 2pm and then Week Two: Midday to 6pm and then alternating weekly thereafter. This role is offering a salary of £20,030 for the 30 hours per week with a further salary increase from the 1st of April 2025 and uniform will be provided.  This role is to start as soon as possible and you will also need to be flexible at times with working hours to cover holiday periods (and you will earn additional income to reflect this).

As a Cook, you will be working within a team to run the Kitchen, prepping the lunches and snacks for 90/100 children. You will have a varied role and responsibilities such as prepping and cooking the meals that have been pre-planned and set along with the general maintenance of the kitchen.  You will also assist with the ordering and organising of the meals including adhering to specific dietary requirements whilst keeping the kitchen and food areas clean and tidy.

It will be preferable for you to have a recently dated Enhanced Child Work Force DBS certificate that is ideally already on the update service (or be prepared to have one undertaken prior to commencing the role if successful) and ideally up to date Food, health and hygiene certificates.  You will also be required to have a good awareness of working with food allergies and different nutritional needs.
