The opportunity
An exciting opportunity has opened up with our client, who is a large engineering Consultancy, focusing on the Nuclear and Defence sectors. Given their increased project expansion, they are currently seeking to employ an experienced Technical Support Engineer to join their dynamic team of nuclear specialists to work on driving the next biggest defence infrastructure project.  

This role is offered on a 12-month initial contract, Inside IR35. You will be able to work remotely but will be required to travel to Plymouth every few months.

You will require Security Clearance, and so we are unable to consider candidates who are not UK Nationals.

Your duties and responsibilities will be

  • To provide technical support to the Design Management Team.
  • Undertake a range of technical Administration activities.
  • Monitor project progress and help where required to keep the project on schedule.
  • Assemble and publish reports to project management
  • Analyse, interpret and evaluate relevant functional information, concepts and ideas and use this information to develop solutions to various problems.
  • Pick up and complete ad-hoc engineering tasks as required.

You will have the following qualifications & experience

  • Be able to work on your own, or as part of a wider team
  • Identify areas of improvement.
  • Identify solutions to engineering based problems.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of health, safety and environmental awareness.
  • Experience in the nuclear, defence, aerospace or oil/gas sectors would be ideal.

It’s great if you also have the following

  • Have some knowledge in the use of “AutoDESK Vault”.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including SharePoint.
