Electrical Estimator – DevonSpecialising in Solar & EV Infrastructure£40,000 - £60,000We’re on the lookout for an Electrical Estimator to join the team in Devon. For a regional M&E contractor doing some exciting stuff in the world of renewables, especially solar PV and EV charging infrastructure. You’ll be working closely with the rest of our pre-construction team, pulling together accurate, competitive bids that help grow our portfolio of sustainable projects.Key Responsibilities
  • Working closely with the Electrical lead
  • Review and assess tender documents for electrical and renewable energy installations
  • Prepare accurate material and subcontractor enquiries, including selecting specialist renewable supply chain partners
  • Conduct site visits to identify risks, constraints, and opportunities
  • Attend strategy meetings and contribute to tender planning and design development
  • Develop detailed analytical cost estimates and bills of quantities for Solar PV, EV charging, and broader M&E projects
  • Assist with budgets, cost planning, and value engineering proposals
  • Collaborate with in-house and external teams to ensure successful bid submissions
Requirements
  • Relevant electrical or construction-related qualification
  • Demonstrable estimating experience within the M&E or electrical contracting industry
  • Ideally a  track record with Solar PV systems, EV charging infrastructure, or low-carbon technologies
  • Good understanding of Building Regs, IET Wiring Regulations and renewable energy standards
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • Full UK driving licence
