Job Title: Senior Engineer (Human Factors Nuclear Safety Case)
Engagement Type: PAYE Contract (potential for Umbrella)
Start Date: ASAP (subject to clearance)
Contract Duration: 6 months (view to extension)
Location: Remote working with occasional visits to client site (approximately 2 days per month)
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

Role & Responsibilities:
* Apply Human Factors (HF) principles within an engineering context, ensuring compliance with nuclear safety standards.
* Conduct human reliability assessments, including human error identification and qualitative/quantitative error analysis.
* Substantiate operator safety claims and support the development and review of nuclear safety cases.
* Deliver HF assessments with minimal supervision, ensuring high-quality outputs.
* Collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary HF and safety case delivery team.
* Provide expertise in the nuclear safety case process, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications/Experience Required:
* Relevant qualification in Human Factors (e.g., degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent).
* Minimum of 5 years' experience applying HF within an engineering context.
* At least 3 years' experience in human reliability assessment, including error identification and analysis.
* Proven experience supporting nuclear safety case development or review (minimum 3 years).
* Strong understanding of the nuclear safety case process.
* Chartered membership of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF) is desirable.

UK National Security Vetting Status:
Active Security Clearance [BPSS, SC, or DV] is required for this role.

Additional Information:
* Expenses: Travel and subsistence to the client site are payable by agreement.
* Notice Period: 4 weeks (both client and candidate.
