Finance Manager

Our client, an innovative company in the Southwest, is actively seeking a Finance Manager to join their dynamic team on a full-time, temporary basis. There is the opportunity for this position to go permanent for the right candidate.

As the Finance Manager, you will be crucial in managing and overseeing the finance operations of the company, while also leading process improvements and supporting ad-hoc projects.

In your role as the Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the intricate finance operations of the company, ensuring that all financial processes run smoothly and efficiently.

The responsibilities:

  • Foster ongoing enhancements in comprehensive accounting procedures.
  • Coordinate the monthly closing process by preparing and recording monthly accruals and prepayments.
  • Supervise the budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Champion the analysis of financial data on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis, presenting insights in various meetings.
  • Oversee the complete audit process, serving as the main liaison for external auditors.
  • Recognise potential delivery risks, suggest remedies, and effectively manage expectations of stakeholders.
  • Oversee working capital management and generate cash flow projections.
  • Lead a team focused on payroll, VAT, HMRC tasks, and intercompany transactions, including foreign VAT reporting.

The candidate:

  • Robust expertise in technical accounting and holds full qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Adept in Excel and accounts software and procedures.
  • Knowledgeable in financial modelling, preparing statutory accounts and formulating budgets.
  • Capable of managing and effectively delegating tasks to team members.
