Finance ManagerPlymouth | Full-time | Competitive Salary + Benefits

Butler Rose is proud to be supporting a successful and expanding organisation in their search for a talented Finance Manager to join their head office team in Plymouth.

This pivotal role reports into the Management Accountants and is ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional with strong analytical and people management skills. You will oversee the full overheads function while playing a key role in driving efficiency, implementing process improvements, and delivering cost-saving initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a small team to process supplier invoices both manually and via a data capture system, ensuring accurate GL coding

  • Perform regular reviews of aged creditors and manage associated queries

  • Complete supplier statement reconciliations and handle supplier enquiries

  • Conduct bank reconciliations

  • Carry out P&L variance analysis and investigations

  • Manage day-to-day administrative tasks

  • Process weekly expense claims

  • Code and post monthly credit card statements

  • Undertake a full review of all overhead codes within the P&L

  • Post monthly accruals, prepayments, and other journals for month-end close

  • Champion continuous improvement of financial processes

About You:
  • Previous experience working in a finance office is essential

  • A recognised accounting qualification

  • Proven team leadership or people management experience

  • Strong numeracy skills and ability to analyse large datasets

  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, inquisitive approach

  • Proficient in IT systems, especially Microsoft Excel

  • Able to work effectively under pressure while maintaining accuracy
