A valued client is seeking an experienced finance professional  (Minimum AAT L4 or equivalent) to step in to the exciting position of Accounting Manager.  The role is one that would oversee General Ledgers and taxes for UK and overseas entities. This role involves, in time, the managing of the well established and loyal accounting team and ensuring compliance with the Group’s financial policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for the monthly and annual closing processes, tax compliance, and communication of financial results to the Group. 

This person would work closely with the long standing Finance Manager as the right hand person and could be a great opportunity for someone who is highly experience in the finance sector, hungry for more responsibility and with the tenacity and capabilities to step in to line managing for the 1st time.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Manage the monthly and annual closing processes in line with the Group’s schedule.
  • Oversee all accounting activities, including the invoicing process.
  • Review and book entries of all general ledgers for the closing process.
  • Ensure compliance with tax deadlines and regulations for each entity.
  • Manage monthly VAT returns, HMRC filings, and other statutory requirements.
  • Handle the Annual Audit, including setting the agenda and communicating with Auditors.
  • Complete the Group tools consolidation and communicate monthly financial results, explaining any variances.
  • Monitor and organise the monthly work schedule for the team.
  • Conduct interviews, define individual and team objectives, and improve the skillset of the team.
  • Interface with the Group finance team to ensure compliance with Group policies.
  • Understand and deploy Group IT tools with the support of Project teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in managing a small-sized team.
  • Expertise in Accounting and Tax Compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of financial consolidation and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with finance teams internationally.
  • Proficiency in Group IT tools and the ability to support their implementation.
  • Autonomous with a broad understanding of finance within a group context.
