Experienced Maintenance Planner required to work for Global Manufacturer based at their Plymouth site. Reporting to the Planned Maintenance Leader, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for the efficient planning and scheduling of maintenance activities to ensure the reliability, availability, and operational effectiveness of equipment within the manufacturing facility. This role involves coordinating resources, including labour, materials, and tools, while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and minimising downtime. The successful candidate will work closely with the Maintenance Technical Leader, Spare Parts Coordinator and other departments to prioritise work, optimise productivity, and support the the companys overall TPM strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and Schedule Maintenance: Develop detailed work plans and schedules for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks, ensuring that 100% off maintenance activities are executed with minimal disruption to operations.
- Coordinate Resources: Organise necessary resources, including personnel, tools, and spare parts, to ensure readiness for scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Optimise Maintenance Processes: Analyse equipment history and maintenance data to improve planning, increase reliability, and reduce downtime.
- Work Order Management: Create, prioritise, and manage work orders within the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)(SAP), ensuring accurate documentation of maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with the Maintenance Technical Leader, Spare Parts Coordinator, production, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure effective communication, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Monitor and Report KPIs: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as overall equipment efficiency (OEE), mean time to repair (MTTR), and mean time between failures (MTBF) to assess maintenance effectiveness.
- Maintain Compliance and Safety Standards: Ensure all planned maintenance activities meet regulatory requirements, safety standards, and organisational policies.
- Individuals have the authority to execute all responsibilities detailed within their job description and any procedures or processes in C2C or otherwise.
- Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.
- Develop / Maintain a comprehensive equipment work and cost history database.
- Ensure highly planned utilisation of technicians and on-time work completion utilising lowest possible completion cost with minimum disruption to equipment operation.
- 100% PMs scheduled and completed on time.
- 100% compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Support the development of optimising the TPM plan, delivering key objectives, goals, and strategies for work planning, including safety, regulatory and budget requirements compliance
- Ensure that all maintenance plans (internal or by contractors) are compliant in terms of safety, regulatory and operational compliant with company requirements, ensure liaison with the Maintenance Technical Leader and Spare Parts Coordinator.
- Validate the time, materials, resources and tools required to complete each job within the production area.
- Manage all planned and scheduled maintenance activities and ensure elimination of de-lays due to waiting for information, materials, equipment, other skills and tools.
- Manage priorities and control maintenance status realization and propose actions for backlog reduction without risk for Operations
- Monitor and control recorded hours, ratio between preventive and corrective maintenance, planning index, schedule adherence and backlog trends and maintenance costs to identify priorities, trigger revision of frequency, duration and or resources in the maintenance plans and potential improvement projects.
- Ensure up to date key process indicators and actions as well as relevant information to all stakeholders.
- Ensure that management is practiced, that effective performance review structures are in place and that measurement and review drives continuous improvement projects of the systems of his/her responsibility.
- Coordinate the work order generation based on maintenance plan and notifications/service requests, with Production planning to increase the planned work.
- Ensure that all work meets all the required technical and EH&S specifications
Essential Qualifications, Experience and Candidate Attributes Required:
- Minimum of Level 3 qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering (Or time served Engineering experience)
- GCSE in Mathematics or equivalent.
- Proven engineering experience
- Experience in a related plant maintenance environment, ideally maintenance activities related to production equipment within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Have knowledge of maintenance systems and procedures, ideally SAP.
- Prior experience maintenance scheduling, task list formulation and material and resource planning.
- SAP PM Master Data experience
- Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams.
