My client in Plymouth is seeking a Terminal Operator to join their fuel storage facility in Plymouth. This role is integral to the safe receipt and distribution of refined petroleum products. The facility operates 24/7, and the successful candidate will be part of a team that ensures the efficient operation of the terminal.
Day to Day of the role:
- Oversee the safe discharge of petroleum ships and the loading of petroleum road tankers.
- Permit and supervise site maintenance activities.
- Account for the inward and outward movements of petroleum products using modern SCADA and I.T. systems.
- Carry out regular site inspections, process monitoring, and performance observations to ensure a safe environment.
- Work closely with various stakeholders including ships personnel, truck drivers, maintenance contractors, and back office support.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Relevant industrial experience or similar transferable skills.
- Computer literacy with I.T. experience.
- Positive attitude towards safety and flexibility to work as part of the operations team.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with different stakeholders.
- Qualifications in any of the following areas would be advantageous:
- Trade qualification.
- Health and Safety qualification.
- Vessel or truck loading/offloading experience.
- Experience in bulk petroleum storage.
- Project management.
