Production Line Leader (Night Shift)

Location: Belliver Way, Plymouth, PL6 7BP

Shift Pattern: Night Shift, 11 PM - 11 AM, 3 days on, 3 days off

Are you ready to lead a team and make a difference in a thriving manufacturing environment? My client is seeking a Production Line Leader to join their night shift operations at their Plymouth site. This role offers an excellent salary, a 48% shift premium, and a comprehensive benefits package.

About the Role

As a Production Line Leader, you will:

  • Collaborate with the Operational Team Leader to ensure the team meets planned manufacturing volume targets, balancing operational and operator responsibilities.
  • Ensure all products meet specifications outlined in the Quality System and organise corrective actions to maintain acceptable standards.
  • Monitor and control manufacturing waste levels, ensuring they remain within budgeted targets.
  • Enforce compliance with Health and Safety, Environmental, and GMP standards among all associates.
  • Plan and implement manufacturing schedules, ensuring effective control of materials, personnel, and production to accommodate schedule changes.
  • Provide and document necessary training for associates to maintain compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a team-oriented environment by motivating and involving line members in promoting a collaborative approach aligned with the company's core values.
  • Ensure smooth shift handovers by facilitating effective communication during shift start-up meetings. Handovers occur at the shift start-up board, the primary channel for communicating line performance.
  • Participate in team meetings with Line Leaders, Operational Team Leaders, and Value Stream Shift Leaders to align on manufacturing goals.
  • Support associate's engagement in the company's Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with Technical Support to build a proactive and interactive team between technicians, technical assistants, and operators.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed to achieve overall plant objectives.


About You

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, managing teams of 4-6 associates.
  • Expertise in lean methodologies, including 5S, 5 Why, and production analysis.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • NVQ2 Leadership Qualification (preferred but not essential).
