Our client who are a leader in British engineering, are looking for a HR Advisor to join their People, Talent & Culture team in Plymouth. About the Role
The HR Advisor will play a pivotal role in delivering outstanding HR support across the business. This role is essential in cultivating a positive and productive workplace culture that reflects our clients values and behaviours. It involves providing coaching, support, and training to our people managers on a wide range of employee relations matters. As a hands-on position, it is responsible for ensuring the effective resolution of all Employee Relations cases.
Key Responsibilities
As a HR Advisor, you'll be responsible for:
- Operational HR Support: Providing advice and assistance on routine HR matters, policy queries.
- Employee Relations: Handling basic investigations into grievances and disciplinary cases, while supporting managers with more complex issues.
- Training and Development: Develop and deliver training to people managers to enhance (and to maintain) skills in managing employee relations issues. Assisting with apprenticeship programmes, and company-wide training initiatives.
- Employee Life-cycle Management: Overseeing key moments such as promotions, transfers, family leave, and exit processes.
- Staff Engagement: Assisting with employee communications, surveys, and milestone recognition.
What You'll Bring
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Essential:
- A CIPD Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrable experience in employee relations, grievance and disciplinary cases.
- A strong understanding of HR practices across multiple disciplines.
- Desirable:
- A CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in the manufacturing sector.
- A mentoring or coaching qualification.
This role is in office 5 days per week in Plymouth.
