I am on the lookout for a People Advisor to join my clients site in Plymouth!

This role is essential for providing comprehensive HR support and advice to their employees and line managers. The ideal candidate will be proactive, knowledgeable in UK employment law, and ready to handle a variety of HR responsibilities in a dynamic environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Provide advice and support on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation including performance management, discipline, and grievance.
  • Serve as a focal point for all stakeholders regarding employment conditions, salary, benefits, and employee relations.
  • Proactively manage live employee relations issues and long-term absence cases.
  • Assist with immigration issues ensuring compliance with UKBA licence requirements.
  • Support recruitment by understanding needs, building job descriptions, raising requisitions, conducting interviews, and handling other recruitment tasks.
  • Assist in reorganisation, redeployment, redundancy, and TUPE transfer projects.
  • Prepare documentation for Employment Tribunals and conduct exit interviews.
  • Provide support on complex compensation and benefit queries.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders including clients and other construction trades.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on relevant HR developments.
  • Build strong relationships with internal & external stakeholders to enhance people strategy and improve customer relations.
  • Provide commercial HR advice and be the first point of contact for advice on policies, procedures, and legislation.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of the HR function across the region and manage complex employee relations matters.
  • Involvement in a wide range of HR activities and projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in a People Advisor / HR Advisor role
  • Strong knowledge of UK Employment Law and Legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
