Are you the unsung hero who can save the day with a hammer and a hearty laugh? We are seeking enthusiastic and dependable School Caretakers to join our team on a supply basis. If you enjoy variety and thrive on keeping things clean and tidy, this is the role for you! You'll be the go-to person for covering absences across primary, secondary, SEND schools in the vibrant city of Plymouth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transforming mess into magic: keeping the school premises clean, safe, and secure.
  • Be the school’s gatekeeper: managing the opening and closing of school buildings.
  • Safety first! Conduct regular health and safety checks.
  • Guardian of the gates: manage school security systems, including alarms.
  • Green thumb bonus: maintain outdoor areas, including playgrounds and sports fields.
  • Event maestro: help set up and clear away for school events and activities.
  • The negotiator: liaise with contractors and external service providers.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in caretaking, maintenance, or facilities is a bonus.
  • Strong grasp of health and safety regulations.
  • Physically fit and able to handle equipment.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Flexibility to swoop in on short notice for day-to-day cover and commit to longer-term missions.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one faster than you can say "background check").
