Experienced Manufacturing Process Engineer required for engineering company based in Plymouth. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing and enhancing manufacturing processes. This position involves designing and testing new processes along with optimising existing ones and troubleshooting production issues. You will ensure compliance with quality and safety standards to uphold the client’s commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement new manufacturing processes.
  • Optimise existing manufacturing processes to improve quality, efficiency, and cost.
  • Troubleshoot production problems and implement corrective actions.
  • Design and conduct experiments to test new processes and materials.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to implement new processes and resolve production issues.
  • Stay updated on the latest manufacturing technologies and trends.
  • Assist in the identification, specification, and purchase of required capital equipment.
  • Supplier interaction.

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge & Candidate Attributes Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar engineering discipline.
  • Experience in production/process/manufacturing engineering gained from within Manufacturing or Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and principles.
  • Experience with process design, optimisation, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and other quality control methods.
  • Knowledge and experience of using 8D and other six sigma methodology for problem-solving.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills coupled with excellent communication skills.
  • Proven track record of running Design of Experiments for process improvement and reduction in internal failure costs
  • Minimum of a six-sigma green belt.

Desired Qualification:

  • Six - sigma black belt.
