Degree Educated and Qualified Engineer required to work within the Steriliser Business Team at Global Manufacturer based at their Plymouth site. The successful candidate will support the team with regulatory requirements, licensing and permits associated with the operation of the Cobalt 60 steriliser. Offer radiological safety through liaison with the Radiation Protection Adviser and act as the appointed Senior Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS). You will be the subject matter expert (SME) support during external and internal audits.

Key Responsibilities:
- Determine, manage and expedite Cobalt 60 needs to satisfy business requirements, including CB2s as appropriate.
- Validation following source loads and support in the export of returned Cobalt 60.
- Investigate new and current industrial irradiator technology and dosimetry methods.
- Provide engineering and technical support to the team.
- Provide product cycle time determination and development.
- Review operating procedures and relevant standards.
- License and permit compliance associated with the operation of the Cobalt 60 steriliser.
- Dosimetry calibration/verification and analysis.
- Operations/radiological/validation member of iSALT corporate sterilisation team
- Shared with the Senior RPSs, responsibility for strict radiological safety requirements, training and procedures.
- Shared with sites RPSs, responsible for radiological safety systems, their correct operation and effectiveness.
- Report on engineering related topics to Plant Management, Members of the Steriliser Business Team and the Steriliser Technicians.
- Report on radiological related topics to statutory bodies, Plant Management, Members of the Steriliser Business Team, Steriliser Technicians and the sites Occupational Health team
- Provide mentoring role to steriliser operational associates.
Essential Qualifications, Experience and Candidate Attributes Required:
- Degree in Science or Engineering related discipline.
- A minimum of five years experience working in a heavily regulated environment (preferably pharmaceutical).
- Experience and ability in statistical analysis techniques.
- Project management experience, leading activities.
- Knowledge of the relevant national and international standards relating to the position.
- Excellent PC knowledge and capability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
