  • Qualifications must include at least one of the following: an indentured apprenticeship in a mechanical discipline, a Level 3 modern apprenticeship in a mechanical discipline, or a Level 3 mechanical engineering qualification.

My client is offering a contract opportunity for Mechanical Fitters (Marine) to join their team based at their Devonport site. You will work on a wide variety of mechanical systems and equipment from fluid pumps, diesel engines through to high pressure air system and hydraulic systems.

Role: Mechanical Fitter
Hourly Rate: 23.73 p/h via Umbrella.
Location: Devonport
IR35 Status: Inside
Contract: 6-months
Security clearance: Must be able to achieve full SC

Responsibilities

  • Install and align new equipment and carry out system and equipment functional tests and surveys
  • to read engineering drawings, to interpret work instructions and be competent in the use of general workshop machinery specific to mechanical fitting
  • Working to technical specifications


Essential experience required

  • Experience of working on the Removal, Installation and overhaul of Marine Mechanical Equipment with a particular focus on Propulsion Equipment, Auxiliary systems & Power Generation Equipment.
  • Demonstratable experience of working within high performing engineering teams focused on delivering engineering projects.


Desirable experience

  • Experience of working within Marine Engineering environment
    Time served apprentice within the field of Marine Engineering / Naval engineering Environment


Qualifications (at least one of the following)

  • Indentured Apprenticeship in a mechanical discipline
    Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship in a mechanical discipline
    Level 3 Mechanical Engineering qualification
