  • The Storekeeper will be responsible for maintaining stock levels, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring efficient store operations.
We are seeking a dedicated Storekeeper on a temporary basis to join our team, providing logistic support for organisation including technical staff, crews, and administrative staff. Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Storekeeper will be instrumental in maintaining computerised records, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the efficient operation of the stores.

08:00 - 15:30 - Monday to Friday with 30 mins for lunch. 

Duration: until end of Sept 2025

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Populate and maintain computerised records of spares, clothing, and cleaning materials.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and identify new ones for best value procurement.
  • Negotiate prices and order equipment and clothing using the Cornwall Council procurement system.
  • Monitor stock levels and lead times to maintain agreed levels.
  • Carry out stock rotation for items with limited shelf life.
  • Store stock items correctly and safely, ensuring organisation and accessibility.
  • Manage the organisation’s asset register and conduct periodic stock checks.
  • Propose changes to stock scale and scope based on usage rates.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in storekeeping, inventory management, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in computerised record-keeping and inventory systems.
  • Knowledge of stock rotation principles and Health and Safety regulations.
  • Competence in handling equipment for stock movement.
  • Attention to detail and organisational skills.
