DK Recruitment are looking for an experienced Shift Maintenance Engineer to join our client's manufacturing plant in Plymouth. This role is vital for supporting the efficient operation of the factory through maintenance, reactive repairs, troubleshooting and any other tasks deemed appropriate by the Engineering Manager.Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out reactive maintenance on all plant, equipment, services, and buildings, including electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and monitoring as per schedules.
  • Assist with developing and implementing line improvements. 
  • Record and communicate all findings.
  • Assist with projects and the installation and commissioning of new plant.
  • Liaise with outside contractors where required.
  • Work with team leaders and management team to ensure targets are met on safety, safety, quality, efficiency, energy, and waste.
  • Communicate effectively with the Engineering Manager on all engineering and production issues.
  • Assist in controlling department budgets.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
The successful candidate should maintain a flexible role in the operation, covering scheduled holidays, additional hours needed, including callouts when required.Qualifications & Skills:
  • Apprentice-trained in a relevant trade (or equivalent) with an associated qualification.
  • Engineering experience in a high-volume production environment is essential and able to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Knowledge and skills in at least several of the following:
    • Electrical and mechanical fault finding
    • Bench fitting, servicing, and maintenance
    • Fabrication and welding
    • Hydraulics and pneumatics
    • Equipment installation
Hours: 6am-6pm Thursday-Saturday working in 1 in 2 Sundays
