About the RoleButler Rose is proud to be working on behalf of our client, a growing manufacturer, in search of a talented and passionate Manufacturing Manager to join their Operations/Production team. Job DescriptionAs a Manufacturing Manager, you will be instrumental in managing production operations, with responsibilities spanning the entire process from sheet metal through to paint and assembly. Key responsibilities include:

  • Manufacturing Leadership: Develop and implement a manufacturing strategy in line with the company's objectives. Ensure processes are flexible, efficient, and cost-effective to meet production goals.
  • Operational Management: Oversee a 24-hour production operation, managing a team of 400+ staff through three shift managers. Ensure that production targets are achieved while upholding safety, quality, and budget standards.
  • Team Development: Provide leadership and coaching to the production and supervisory teams. Promote a management culture that prioritises employee development, health, safety, and well-being.
  • Quality & Customer Focus: Work closely with the quality department to ensure high-quality products are delivered, aiming for zero customer complaints.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to improve productivity, control costs, and ensure timely delivery. Drive continuous improvement (CIP) activities and future planning efforts.

Qualifications and ExperienceWe welcome applications from a wide range of backgrounds, recognising that both qualifications and experience contribute to success in this role. Essential requirements include:

  • A degree in leadership, management, or engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing systems and processes.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience managing teams in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver strategic initiatives.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with sheet metal, paint processes, and assembly operations.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools such as OEE, Kanban, SMED, TPM, and 5S.
  • Background in the automotive or first-tier automotive industries.

Package

  • Salary - up to £72,000 DOE and Qualifications
  • Bonus up to 12% based on meeting KPI's
  • Private medical insurance for spouse and children under 16
  • Potential sign on bonus of £5000 payable after 6 months successful completion in the role
  • Relocation package of 10% of base salary
  • 33 days holiday per year
