About the role:

This exciting newly created position offers an exceptional opportunity for an experienced People or Operations Manager to work alongside our unit Managers to oversee the allocation and execution of people resource to the production areas based on organisational priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Own the relationships with cross-functional teams - Production, Planning, IT, Finance, Manufacturing & Engineering to implement improvement initiatives to ensure that our manufacturing staffing is optimised to meet the business production demands.

Identify short, medium & long term resourcing needs and establish an action plan to ensure that we train and engage with an agile workforce.

Understanding what training needs are required and identify skills gaps

Oversee Manpower Planning scenarios to ensure we have the right people on the right machines at the right times to ensure an effective manufacturing operation.

Analyse manufacturing data to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains.

Engage in ongoing training programs to build technical and leadership capabilities that allow for a highly skilled and flexible workforce.

Benchmark against other leading global manufacturing organisations to instil a culture of best practise.

Oversight of the grading contribution to ensure consistency

Work alongside the SMT to drive through initiatives to ensure our manpower planning needs are met & enhanced.

About you:

  • Degree / Master’s in Business, Manufacturing or Operations, or a related field.
  • Ability to lead and influence teams
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking / problem-solving skills, with a specific interest in manufacturing.
  • Highly numerate and comfortable with data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills plus also the ability to influence at all levels of the business.
