Blueprint Recruitment have an opportunity you don’t want to miss! Our client is looking for an experienced and skilled Mechanical Process Design Manager to join their team in a contract role, working fully remote, onsite expectations is only a couple of days a month in Plymouth.

Our client is a leading global engineering services company that specialises in supporting critical industries, including defence, aerospace, nuclear, and energy.

Key Responsibilities:

-Lead and manage the design process across multiple projects, ensuring the successful delivery of designs on time and within budget.

-Collaborate with stakeholders, including engineers, architects, and clients, to define and implement design solutions.

-Oversee the creation of detailed design documentation (drawings, specs, and reports).

-Ensure designs meet all relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.

-Manage resources and timelines to ensure efficient project execution.

-Review and approve design proposals and technical submissions.

Key Requirements:

- BEng/BSc in mechanical engineering or similar degree.

-8-10+ years’ experience of designing a mechanical services / process systems.

-Experience of working in a highly regulated industry, strong preference to nuclear.

-Understanding of hydraulic / pressure calculations.

-Understanding of hazard identification and analysis associated with process systems (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP etc).

-Line management experience of 5+ direct reports.

-Has been responsible for the programme and design output of a work package.

-Chartered Engineer and masters education is highly desirable!

-Understanding of IEC 61511.
