Our client is one of the UK's leading building services engineering consultancies who are currently recruiting for a Senior / Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join them from their Plymouth or Exeter office on a full time, permanent basis.

In this role you will collaborate with the industry's best, working with a wide range of built-environment specialists. In addition, you will be part of progressive and exciting projects and get the opportunity to work on innovative schemes across all sectors.

Senior / Principal Mechanical Design Engineer Position Overview
  • Work on a variety of projects in key industry sectors
  • Designing mechanical engineering systems at the highest level using the latest software design packages, including AutoCAD and REVIT.
  • Leading mechanical services design on large projects and taking overall lead on small to medium-sized projects within the office.
  • Engaging with junior support staff in their day-to-day activities and offering advice and guidance to ensure they develop their skills.
  • Ensuring technical delivery in your work either alone or as part of a team.
  • Financially astute, working with the project leader to monitor fee expenditure, resources, and work delivered.
Senior / Principal Mechanical Design Engineer Position Requirements
  • Prior experience at another multi-disciplinary, building services or engineering consultancy.
  • Software package knowledge: Hevacomp / CAD / Revit MEP
  • Professionally qualifications such as a degree / HND in BSc / BEng(Hons) in Mechanical Engineering / Building Services Engineering or similar,
  • Member or Associate of Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) or IMech or similar
  • A clear understanding of the design, installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical building services within the built environment.
  • Project Leading / Client Facing experience would be advantageous
