Senior Design Engineer (Mechanical/ Sheet Metal)

Plymouth

£50,250 + 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + Life Assurance 3x Annual Salary + Pension 5% Matched + Company bonus based on attendance, productivity, and quality + Company discount scheme and Westfield health.

Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week (Flexible working, core hours to be covered).
Core Hours: 9am – 3pm Mon-Thurs and 9am – 2pm on Friday.

The Senior Design Engineer Role:

  •          Designing and developing new products: primarily mechanical and sheet metal design work.
  •          Using Creo & Windchill or Autodesk Inventor and Vault.
  •          Use of Design tools such as DFMEA and six sigma tolerance analysis.
  •          Participation and Lead Design Reviews.
  •          Direct customer engagement, establishing needs and updating them on their projects.

The Successful Design Engineer:

  •          Working closely with customers, and experience of managing projects.
  •          Responsible for mechanical aspects of design, including static load, dynamic load and vibration.
  •          Experience of working from customer specifications, as well as creating designs from scratch.
  •          Hold a higher form of education / qualification relating to mechanical engineering, preferably a Degree or equivalent.
