The Energy Division at ARM are currently recruiting an experienced Senior Mechanical Handling Engineer to join a world-leading, nuclear defence client based out of Devonport dockyard.

Job Overview:

Our client provides major new or upgraded dock, berth and building infrastructure projects to provide facilities for the ship and submarine sustainment programmes.

Your primary purpose is to assist and support the Design Manager in the delivery of project scope.

Key Requirements

  • Draft technical design documentation including; requirements, design reports, presentations and calculations.
  • Oversee conversion of existing design records into a 3D model.
  • Maintain and update the project registers of technical queries, change requests, design review requests and design review actions.
  • Determine durations for design tasks to support the principal engineer and project manager in planning activities

Experience

  • The candidate will have a degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Senior Engineering level
  • Ideally having worked for Babcock on the licenced Nuclear site
  • Knowledge or experience of Defence or any other licensed site, understand Nuclear safety cases.
  • Understand engineering drawings, mark them up
  • Software - Navisworks, revit, inventor
  • Eurocode (not essential)
  • Use mathcad (essential)
