Electrical Fitter

Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth

gap personnel Exeter are recruiting for 2 Electrical Fitters on a temporary basis for our client based at Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth, Devon.  

You will be joining a leading company that provides Engineering Services to the Defence, Security, Nuclear and Emergency Servies.

As an Electrical Fitter you will join a forward thinking team, ensuring the Dockyard is running as it should be. You will manage isolation of a variety of electrical equipment that could include distribution, command, and control systems, such as weapons, navigation, and communications.

You will work to electrical/engineering drawing and technical specifications as you isolate and make safe a variety of electrical systems for production to maintain, repair & overhaul. You will be expected to install, maintain and test electrical installations and equipment as well as carrying out fault finding. A knowledge of 3 phase systems is desirable, but not essential. 

About you:

  • City & Guilds Level 3 Qualification 
  • 18th Edition BS7671
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Available immediately
  • Ability to work well independately and as a team
  • Electrical installation/maintenance experience (preferably with experience of RN platforms)

Pay & Hours:

  • £18.70ph-£19.67, paid weekly
  • Monday to Thursday (0730am – 1530pm) & Friday 0730am – 1230pm, 35hours per week.
