Job Description:We are looking for a reliable and experienced Slinger to work on our construction sites. As a Slinger, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently directing the movement of heavy loads using cranes and other lifting equipment. Your role is crucial in ensuring that materials are moved and positioned accurately, preventing accidents and maintaining a safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely sling and rig loads for lifting using appropriate equipment and techniques
- Direct crane operators during lifting operations, ensuring precise and safe placement of loads
- Inspect rigging and lifting equipment regularly to ensure they meet safety standards
- Communicate effectively with crane operators and other team members to coordinate lifting operations
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries
- Assist in the assembly and disassembly of lifting equipment as needed
- Maintain accurate records of lifting operations and equipment inspections
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Slinger or similar role in the construction industry
- Knowledge of rigging techniques, lifting equipment, and safety regulations
- Ability to read and interpret rigging diagrams and lifting plans
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on safety
- Rigging certification or relevant training is highly desirable
- Physical stamina and the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
- Have a current DBS MOD
- Have a current CSCS Card Gold
