Join our team as a Nursery Practitioner at a private school and nursery in Plymouth, dedicated to providing a holistic education that nurtures intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and core values of integrity, kindness, and respect. Day-to-day of the role:
  • Contribute to the provision of a full and balanced range of learning activities for children from 8 months upwards.
  • Ensure the care and well-being of children while maintaining positive links with parents and professionals associated with the nursery and school.
  • Plan and implement effective activities suitable for all abilities, ensuring an inclusive environment.
  • Observe, monitor, and provide constructive feedback on childrenā€™s progress.
  • Engage with parents and carers sensitively and effectively, supporting their involvement in the childrenā€™s learning.
  • Provide necessary personal care to children and support their emotional and developmental needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

Essential:

  • A full and relevant Nursery Assistant qualification such as NVQ Level 2, CCLD, NNEB, CACHE, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in an Early Years setting.
  • Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and experience working with children with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 3.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Experience working with outside agencies and previous experience in a similar role.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Demonstrate integrity, honesty, flexibility, and enthusiasm.
  • Possess strong numeracy, literacy, and ICT skills.
  • Be adaptable to changing circumstances and open to new ideas.
